Incentives for Registrars – Effective 2025
Wambo Medical is honoured to be recognised by the RACGP as an incentivised training location in the 2025.1 training semester. This distinction provides GP registrars with financial support to complete their placements in rural and remote areas, helping address critical healthcare needs in our community.
As an RACGP-endorsed training site, we offer a unique opportunity for registrars to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while benefiting from these incentives. At Wambo Medical, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

General Practice Training Queensland Incentives
General Practice Training Queensland (GPTQ) recognise the need to support and encourage registrars to consider rural practices and explore rural communities during the early stages of their quest to find a suitable training practice.
This guideline describes the reimbursements available to both general and rural pathway GPTQ Registrars who travel to attend interviews in rural practices/facilities within the GPTQ footprint. Please view the Guideline here.
GPTQ would also like to encourage registrars to come out into rural communities and interview face to face with practices rather than over telephone or video conference. As such a new incentive from GPTQ is available for registrars who have interviewed and are interested in placement at Wambo Medical.
